The following slides show some examples of several public and private cloud services that are procured and managed with the HyAlto platform.
A customer or end-user has a marketplace of cloud services available for procurement from their provider. These services include IaaS/PaaS/SaaS/XaaS services available from private and public clouds.
An end-user can order a virtual machine from VMware vCenter, and configure by selecting the individual resource quantities, networks and templates based on the provider’s pricing.
An end-user can order a virtual data center from VMware vCloud Director, and configure by selecting the individual resource quantities, networks and templates based on the provider’s pricing. HyAlto supports Allocation, Reservation and Pay-as-You-Go virtual data center types.
An end-user can order an EC2 service from AWS and select the individual resource quantities, instance type and volume type based on the provider’s pricing.
The HyAlto platform allows a provider to expose any service in the marketplace using the ‘XaaS’ or ‘’Anything-as-Service’ feature. In this example, the end-user is procuring a back-up cloud service.
Cloud services which are ordered and provisioned can be managed and reconfigured from the ‘My Services’ dashboard.
Once a virtual machine is ordered and provisioned, an end-user can re-configure the resources of the virtual machine.
Once a VMware virtual data center is ordered and provisioned, an end-user can manage the virtual data center.
XaaS services that are ordered and provisioned can be managed and reconfigured in ‘My Services’.
The following slides show some examples of how a Managed Service Provider can expose public and private cloud services in the marketplace for consumption and management by a customer.
A service provider can view all private and public cloud consumption by service, and by user.
A service provider can configure and create virtual machine services based on VMware vCenter and price each resource element for procurement by a customer.
A service provider can configure and create virtual data center services based on VMware vCloud Director infrastructure, and price each resource element for procurement by a customer.
A service provider can resell AWS services, including configuring and creating customized EC2 instances and pricing for procurement.
A service provider can manage a customer’s existing AWS EC2 environment.
A service provider can expose their entire price book of services in the marketplace with the ‘X’ or ‘Anything’-as-a-Service feature. XaaS services can be created with a custom form-builder and custom pricing and exposed in the marketplace.
A customer can procure an ‘X’ or ‘Anything’-as-a-Service such as backup, disaster recovery, management, professional services etc. The platform allows for automated provisioning using application hooks or manual provisioning using email notifications.
The HyAlto platform keeps statistics for all usage and transaction activity of all users, for all services consumed and managed by the platform.
All usage detail of cloud activity is available through the HyAlto Restful APIs, and also custom activity reports that are available from the platform interface.
The HyAlto platform includes Roles Based Access Control (RBAC) for customized user roles and permissions.
