  • Leo Lax
    Leo Lax CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

    Leo is the Executive Managing Director for L-SPARK. Before that, Leo was the co-founder of Skypoint Capital, a venture capital firm that specialized in investing in early stage Information and communication tech companies. Lax brings with him to L-SPARK valuable experience as a practiced veteran of both the corporate and entrepreneurial sides of the tech sector. Prior to Skypoint, Leo was a senior executive at Newbridge Networks where he was responsible for corporate venturing, and prior to that he was at Mitel as Senior Executive of one of the key business units. Leo holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from McGill University and a Master of Engineering degree from Royal Military College.

  • Don Smith
    Don Smith MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

    Don Smith has more than 30 years experience in the telecom industry, including more than six years at Mitel Corporation, where he was promoted to Executive Vice President of global sales and marketing. Following his career at Mitel, he became President of AIT Corporation, successfully taking them public in 1993. In 1996 Don founded and was president and CEO of Cambrian Systems Corporation, which was acquired by Nortel Networks in 1998. Don then served as VP and General Manager of OPTera Solutions, a division of Nortel. In 2000, he was promoted to President of Optical Internet at Nortel. Don served as CEO of Mitel Networks Corp., from 2001 to 2011. He Holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Imperial College, London University (U.K.).

  • Alan Zurakowski
    Alan Zurakowski CEO

    Alan Zurakowski brings more than 30 years of technology experience to his position as CEO. Prior to AirVM, Alan was responsible for the management and development of Mitel’s strategic alliances including VMware and the company’s shift to virtualizing unified communications and collaboration across the globe. Before joining Mitel, Alan was a co-founder and partner for Superna, a Canadian-based business consulting firm.
